Thats so rad... the perspective is great, the detail is great, the atmostphere is great. But my favorite part is the innocence of youth showing through in the hero. There's something about the picture that just seems to capture human nature in its purest form. The girl desiring rescue and the boy desiring to rescue, a simple story that sets the stage for love in later life... Absolutely love it.

The background is absolutely awesome. Excellent perspective, and I really like your vision of that great city in ruins concept... The first thing that pops up when I see the characters, thiugh, is that the guy's dynamic position contrats weirdly with the girls's pose, rather static. Also, for some reason, the girl looks bored...

I totally felt in love with the girl's face and expression. That's absolutely awesome! The theme, colors, composition, mood etc... everything beautifully fits into each other, it's just brilliant! from me

wonderful picture! Love the look of the little girl's face... as if she is just humoring the little prince and smiles at his attempt to rescue her
really great painting!

I like every piece of it, as they are nicely shaded and built, but I must say the dynamics in the picture fails a lot, as every piece seems to be going in its own direction without notice of the rest of the other elements. The girl hardly notices she is being dragged, and the boy isn't really grabbing her.

From that jump, he might fall!....scary
...Naw, heroes dont die.

Very awesome and cute piece! i love it!

Brittany - Thanks, I'm glad you liked the detail, expressions, and the cold feel.

rawwad, winchester - Thanks for the great compliments.

Avong, sandrum, g-nome, abourabe, StormrageJunior - Thanks for your comments. That is one of the reasons why I posted here, to get constructive criticism. I am disappointed that she looks like she is standing still. That obviously was not my intent. I plan to reposition her to fit the scene better.

Monkies - Thanks, hopefully the next one won't take as long as this one.

sh@ke, Ie coYote, doorwindows, napinoo - Thank you.

zegritch - Thanks. Any reason why they look like giants? My theory is that there are no large foreground elements except for the shingles. I wish I could have worked something else into the foreground.

Andy H - Thanks for your great compliments. This painting was influenced a bit by Norman Rockwell and his predecessor J.C. Leyendecker.

theseraphimabove - You said it better then I could have.

StormrageJunior - glad you like the ruins and perspective

loocas, davidbasalla, - thanks

adonihs - Wow, thanks!

Zorrino - Thats something I need to work on.

Limiter - Thanks. That is the feeling I was going for.

Beautiful work!! I love the colours and expressions. Reminds me of when I was younger, all the stories me and my brother would create. Wonderful!

Nice work Dan. Good use of perspective and action. The colours work very well! Do I detect a Waterhouse influence in the costume design..?
