![]() Title: Roxy (illustrator Vector Art) Name: Stephen Gustafson Country: United States Software: Illustrator This was my first time using illustrator. I originally started this picture, based on a photo of my friend Roxy, mostly to learn how to use the software and mess with gradiant meshes...but as I usually do, I got a little carried away with it. :) It's a fun technique to mess around with at least once, but after the good 20-30 hours I spent on this, I don't want to see any beziar handles again for a very very long time... I wasn't going for complete realism, especially since I couldn't figure out a good way to do highlights in the hair, or other fine details. But I still wanted to make it fairly detailed while restricting myself to only using Illustrator. Any c&c is welcome (as well as suggestions on how to do hair highlights for future images, perhaps?), keeping in mind that this was intended to be created solely in illustrator. Oh, and here's a wire image. |

Hey man, nice first effort! try making simpler shapes when your using the mesh or even random shapes with areas of light and shade. You picked the hardest thing to draw for your first attempt. Try something like a flower petals like in the tutorial and work your skills up.
You can always add highlights on top. |
