How About Some Help From My Friends, Mats Andersson (2D)

Title: How About Some Help From My Friends
Name: Mats Andersson
Country: Sweden
Software: Photoshop

This picture was created to depict the characters of a Tribe8 RPG campaign I had the pleasure to partake in. The real issue, apart from straining with my newly accuired wacom, was to express the different player characters and thus please my friends - thankfully, they appeared to be satisfied with the result. Still, I would like some outside feedback.
One issue I've been wrestling with is the background, since focus is on three different characters, I've had trouble finding a suitable background for the trio, resulting in no background instead...

Amazing work!!!
I don't know what others think, but I like it without a background. It gives a "feeling" to it...
yeah...that is the best word I could come up with.
I know what you mean abut new Wacoms... eich...

I think it really needs a background. All the characters look real great and detailed but it looks like they just got killed by some sloppy airbrushing. Whithout the background it looks like someone threw a bunch of black onto a rendering that obviously took a lot of work and talent.
