Cliff Of Mild Dementia, Daniel Top (2D)

Title: Cliff Of Mild Dementia
Name: Daniel Top
Country: United States
Software: Photoshop

done over a few days (with many days in between) in photoshop with a wacom tablet. i did a quick sketch and liked the idea, but disliked the idea of texturing such a huge area of rock... so i didn't.
i used a couple of photo references for the clouds, and one for the tiny lighthouse.

just a simple execution of an idea. there's not much to it, really, but i'd be interested to hear what you think of the idea and the style.

I like the concept very much , and the realization too
I think however that you could modify the outline of the cliff. It looks a bit artificially smoothed out . It still could be monolithic as it is now but with some more natural cracks on it .
good luck

Nice work, it has that simplistic, comical style to it. I'm hoping that's what you were trying to achieve, right? Clouds look good too, nice soft brush strokes. I would add the typical horizon fog, rather than a strong dead horizon line.

thanks for your feedback, folks.

i guess comical was what i was shooting for. simple without being cartoony. perhaps even comic-like or comic-esque.
there is horizon fog, but i guess it's a little too subtle. i could have done something more with the base of the clouds and the horizon. a little more detail there would have contrasted nicely with the plain volume of the cliff. i also forgot to reflect the clouds.
the rock shape could definitely have used more work. good point, Niorger.

i think i'll leave this one as it is, but i'll be sure to incorporate your suggestions in my next piece (provided it includes rock and a horizon). thanks again.
