I like him. I'm a little surprised to see a moire-like pattern on the bag, and hair that blows both-ways, but I like him nonetheless.

He does look very sad. The anatomy is really solid, and I think youíve nailed the pose you were going for. I really like the textures youíve created on the stonework, canvas, and carrying sack. Setting the figure off-center is also a good choice compositionally, but you probably knew that already. Iíll speculate that you kept the background reasonably sparse in order to focus on the figure, but Iíd really like to see some more detail in the top part of the image. It looks like a wall maybe, but I donít see any shadow from the figure (the rest of the shadows are excellent). Great work!
