Concept Art: Futuristic Aircraft Design, I-netgrafx - Daniel Kvasznicza (2D)

Title: Concept Art: Futuristic Aircraft Design
Name: I-netgrafx - Daniel Kvasznicza
Country: Austria
Software: Painter 8, Photoshop 7

This's an aircraft design I did lately, just to get into Painter 8 and concept painting in general.

I started off with some perspective grids and rendered the faces in Painter. For some color tweakings I used Photoshop 7. I switched several times between Photoshop and Painter ...

It would be interesting, what you think about my kind of vehicle rendering and transportation design. Therefore I'd be happy about some helpful critiques and comments ...

Good sense of speed

Congrats to your work !

I think the compisition and background are really good, capturing the sense of speed really well. I think you have managed to balace the thhree crafts well so that the center one gets the attention it needs.

About the design. I think you should define the shapes and panels of the craft to make it more characteristic. It is a bit too blurry, and it is more like shiny colored tin foil wrapped around a cone shape then a real piece of engineering. Like some cockpit if it has one, or some intakes or something to break up the form a bit.

I like the assymetric wings but they also should be a bit more defined. A bit more detail will do the trick i think.

Lighthing is also good. It has a really painterly feel to it. If you want to be more on the concept side of things I thingk you should be a bit more technical/accurate about the actual craft design.

Keep up the good work.

i like that rendered feel of your painting. the colors are lovely, very sharp and hot which make the scene very dynamic. Great.

Wow, I really like the yellow and blue reflections on the plane. The smoke looks very nice too.

Smile Thanks, for ya comments!!

@Addiso: Now, that's a comment! That helps me a lot!
I didn't invest much time in designing this piece. i thought about some kind of rocket-a-like
aircraft with flipped wings. Just was curious about it how it would work from that POV.
Indeed, I think there's too much blur at the ground. Therefore I've reduced it!

@dgpilot: Thanks for your comment! I tried to capture speed and lighting in a believable way.

@miloszwl: Thanks! I even reduced the saturation in some parts ...

@C0mmie: THX! I've added the smoke at last. I felt, there was something missing. The smoke added more depth to it.

Here's a bigger version of the painting.
Notice, I've reduced the blur and cleaned up some lines, ...

Thanks a lot for your help!

Cheers, Daniel
