Portrait:: Of The Far East, Don Low (2D)

Title: Portrait:: Of The Far East
Name: Don Low
Country: Singapore
Software: Painter

My first attempt to paint with Painter. Modifying from a photo reference and collage of a few backgrounds of clouds and fields... repainting them and so on...the experience was great! I have to credit the technique to a few website providing the painting tuts too! Esp ethereal.info. Without it, I could not make any sense to the UI and the rest of the functions. I hope to do more with it and to see more improvement as well.

Ok. Thanks for the kind silence...I presume there isn't much to comment about my piece here.... however after sometimes looking at it, I realised that the edge of her orange dress is a bit too contrasting with the background. BTW, thanks for viewing too!

Time to break the silence

The baskets and cloth looks very nice. I suggest refining her features a bit more so that her face will have good contrast with the background and also to show more depth in the painting. As for her dressing, the cloth could have used a a bit more shading to show fullness.

the trees looked like they have been smudged here and there unnecessarily.

Alright, there goes my two cents.
