Girl Walking Her Pet Spider, Don Seegmiller (2D)

Title: Girl Walking Her Pet Spider
Name: Don Seegmiller
Country: US
Submitted: 16th January 2014

Done awhile back for an Imagine FX workshop. Entered in Spectrum 19. This is an interesting image in that many people don't even see the tail on the girl because they are concerned with the spider. The more they don't like spiders the less they see the tail.

Interesting blend of stylized forms with shading, I think it works well! It does seem to work as an anachrophobia test, too! Mostly it's her face that grabs my attention though. Either way, I wouldn't have seen the tail without you mentioning it.
