Bender goes to Vegas, Thiago Miranda de Oliveira (3D)

Software: Maya, mental ray, Photoshop

This is one of my first 3d illustrations. A little homage to one of my favourite cartoon characters, Bender "Bending" Rodriguez.

Completely modeled in Maya, with a huge help of CrazyBump for some normal maps. Photoshop used for some color corrections and final touches.

great rendering and concept... my only crit is that the mouth looks a little bit ''close'' ,perhaps some holes or some difernet texture... I dont know if I'm explaining well.... anyway is a fantastic render..

haha, bender is one of my fav cartoon characters. You captured his personality verry well, but have you tried a moremetallic looking shader for the metal? Looks kind of dull now

Very awsome! Only crit would be that his pupels should be darker, the black level or spec they have is very close the his shade and his eyes get lost in it. Making it darker less spec would push it back and pull it away from the shade material.

"No room for Bender Huh? Fine I'll go build my own Lunar Lander, with Blackjack.. annd Hookers!"

Hey, thanks for the crit! Actually, in my first concept it had very small holes. You can only notice the material in the very high res image.

Yeah, that's one of the things I noticed. I didn't want an absurdly reflective or excessively shiny material, but I'll definitely look into that.
