LAST DAY OF THE DINOSAURS - CLASH OF THE DINOSAURS - TYRANNOSAURUS REX, Dominic Piché (3D)

Title: LAST DAY OF THE DINOSAURS - CLASH OF THE DINOSAURS - TYRANNOSAURUS REX
Name: Dominic Piché
Country: Canada
Software: Maya, mental ray, Photoshop, ZBrush

I was hired by MOKKO studio to create the TYRANNOSAURUS REX for the documentary CLASH OF THE DINOSAURS. This creature appeared also in the documentary LAST DAY OF THE DINOSAURS which can now be seen on the Discovery channel. I was in charge of constructing the base mesh, the displacement map and the bump map.

Credits:

-Lead character artist: Yves Rainville
-Texture and shader artist (and lighting for the still image):
Majorique Archambault
-Artistic direction and concept: Arnauld Brisebois
-Lead texture artist: Patrick Coiteux

and many thanks to the rest of the staff at MOKKO studio.

Wink

Yeah I know , the video trailer is dark in contrast , but on the real episodes on tv, the contrast is perfect.

You see more the details of the character on the actual show, the contrast is much better than in the trailer.

Exclamation

The model was contructed with close supervision of real paleonthologists, the proportions are matching the skeleton of a real T-REX.
