could someone enlighten me please? it's a nice rending - beyond question... but what makes it so special?

The lighting and texturing are excellent.

A few critiques, the pose could be stronger, with both arms by his side like that, he looks a little lifeless.

Your rock texture is nice, but I'd expect to see more small rocks, little broken off bits laying around.

Finally, while I realize you're basing him off a real character, it could be nice if some of the modeled details on his suit were smaller. Right now, just about every primary shape in the model is approx the same size. It's usually more visually pleasing when you have some large, medium and small details on the model, to give variety.

Otherwise, excellent image.

Hi Peach,

I plugged this image because I felt that it was an excellent example of a reimagination of a classic 2d character.

Hey Neil,

I agree with you in regards to the pose of the character. I wish that David had chosen a more iconic pose for this image. I thought the Freeza pose was spot on, for example.

David,

When do we get to see you take on some other classic anime series? How about 'Hokuto No Ken', a.k.a. 'Fist of the North Star'?
