Angelina Jolie Extreme Close-up, Dave Auclair (3D)

Title: Angelina Jolie Extreme Close-up
Name: Dave Auclair
Country: USA
Software: 3ds max, mental ray, Photoshop

My criteria for creating a highly detailed character face was someone who is highly recognizable, attractive, and someone I could get a lot of reference material on. Little did I know many people attempt to model Angelina Jolie. I'm not even really a fan of hers, but I did very much enjoy creating this image. I hope you enjoy it too. I plan to submit to Expose 4 - So wish me luck! :)

I recommend checking out the hi resolution images, because this small image can't do the detail justice. Thank you very much to all the people who helped in the WIP thread with their crits and comments!

most people that try to do a cg version of a real person fall way short. but this one turned out pretty well. i think maybe her eyes are too far apart? or maybe it just looks fine, but my mind is trying to tell me something is wrong, because it's too fine. good job anyway!

Her eyelashes and eyebrows kinda bother me, because they look fake, but this is a great work either way.

This is pretty close to outstanding, with a couple of minor crits.

As already mentioned the eyelashes, they need thickening up a bit, the bridge of her nose needs to be slightly squared off and is actually off centre. Lastly her eyes need to have some greeny brown in the middle.

I've located a great page with some outstanding reference for you

Its very hard to make a model look realistic.. especially to make a model look like a specific person now that is hard.. I think you have done a fantastic job with this piece. It really looks like her.
Whether you think you can or you can't, you probably right.

Looks REALLY nice Superb texturing and a very nice work those little white hair all over the face.
though... perhaps it's just the matter of a close up... but there's something disturbing about the proportions. I dunno... the shoulder makes it look like the the head was attached to a kinda small body .
And remember... don't squat with yer spurs on... :]

OMG, i can feel her skin man! fantastic and really impressive. How long did it take you to complete it? If there's any comment, i would say her eyes. but all in all its awesome.

Yes, this looks REALLY GOOD!! I'm not sure I can offer the proper crits for this, as I'm not a giant fan of hers. I'm not sure what seems off (something is there) but damn! This is sweet looking!
