Benetton B196 F1 Car, Diego Noriega (3D)

This is my latest F1 car. I made it using Zmodeler v1.07 for the 3D model and Photoshop CS for the textures. Then I created the scene using photos from a friend of mine and rendered it using 3D Studio Max 7 with Brazil Plugin. I'm looking for general comments about the rendering and the model, which is completely "hand-made" (as Zmodeler doesn't have many automatic constructions :P) for a game (Grand Prix 4) and so it's also fully playable! It includes a good damage-model, with internal parts such as engine, gearbox and suspension rods, that can't be seen in the render, as they were made for the game.

That is very impressive. My only criticism is that the tyres appear to have motion blur, whilst the inside of the wheel doesn't.

That is very cool and quite well dont. I just wonder if the work crew could come in and clean off some of those pebbles or these cars will be finding the wall shortly. Nice job!

Excellent job on the model and composition! The only thing I noticed odd was the tyres in the first shot. They seem a little 'flat' compared to the rest.

I agree with the rest, exelent work, the composition is really good. but the tires looks odd on the first picture.

yes, awesome composition but the tires need a new mat. They dont quite fit in with the rest of the look.

everything looks great, the modeling the texturing but the lighting may need some work.
i have seen this problem else where and its mainly due to GI bounce from the ground or below the horrizon. the bottom part of the tire should be rerlatively darker than what it is right now in my opinion.


but great job over all

Thanks to eveyone for comments & critics
This renders were born almost as an experiment, and they have many little mistakes... The biggest one is probably the tyres, as you have noticed. They don't look as a realt tyre should. I searched around the web for a tutorial about making a good rubber-looking material, but I didn't succeed.
About the static rim, the scene was first born for a static render, so i build it with 3D rims, and I know I should have changed this. Just keep in mind this was originally created for a game, and not for a 3D rendering
Dunno if this is Off-topic, but, can anyone of you post some suggestions or some link for creating a good material for the tyre in 3ds? My lightning system is very simple, I'm almost a newby!

I thought it was a real photo at first, until I saw the tires. They just need some shading to give them some depth. Well done!

Looks good, and I won't bother mentioning what others havesaid, but I have a question...

Why is the Benneton, a car from 1996, racing a Ferrari that looks to be from between 2002-2004?

Eheh, nice question...
Just because I found that was a nice photo to be used into a render, although the Ferrari is from 2004 and the Benetton from 1996. Let's imagine it could be one of those revivals with many cars from different years, hehe!
