30 Mile Point Lighthouse, John Beam (3D)

Title: 30 Mile Point Lighthouse
Name: John Beam
Country: United States
Software: LightWave 3D

30 Mile Point Lighthouse done in Lightwave 8.2
I based this model upon reference photo's I got on the internet. I took some liberties with the top of the lighthouse cause I wanted to try an old copper type texture! I used background radiosity and 1 area light with about 6 spots for fill.... a couple of point lights inside the building for interior.. The grass was made with sasquatch shader... I am hoping to do a night shot as soon as I get some more time.. Let me know what ya'll think! Any comments welcome and appreciated...

That's looking good. The only thing that stands out to me critique-wise are the shadows on the left most portion of the roof and flag. To my eye those shadows don't seem to correspond to the direction of the rest of the shadows in the scene. I like the effect of the shadows on the house, I just don't know if it's logical. Aside from that, I love all of the little texture details on everything. I think the little color variations and shadows in the lawn really make the grass convincing.

I updated this a bit and fixed the tables that were too small and got rid of the flags... looks better to me....

Thumbs up

Looks great. I don't know if the bump is too much, it looks okay too me, could be just a little too shiny or glossy? The only problem is, I think the brick could be a little more white. A night scean would look really cool.
