Leopard 2, Anselm Von Seherr - Thoß (3D)

Title: Leopard 2
Name: Anselm Von Seherr - Thoß
Country: Germany
Software: 3ds max, After Effects, BodyPaint

During my internship here at the Soul|Pix Studios in Hannover/Germany i practised Vray Shader constructing, lighting, texturing and rendering with this scene.
I used 3D Studio MAX 7 with Vray.
The Model is from the "De Espona Model Collection" so NON of the modeling work was done by me. Please no credits for this part.
I textured this tank in Bodypaint3D with a wacom graphire3 tablet.
Now the really interesting facts about this location ;-) it´s a training spot for our army near my parents house. The three destroyed tanks are a memorial of WW2. The day i took this picture the sky was brilliant for taking reference pictures. Nearlly a clear 128,128,128 RGB value of the sky :-D
This Image won the 1st place at the Animago Award 2005 in the category Education>Still>Vehicles.

Looks spot on to me.. Would love to see it integrated into an image that allowed us to see some more sides of it.

- Nice work. The tank in integrated into the shot nicely.
- I think that the area under the tank is a little too dark though.

I think i'd like to see a little more yellowish reflected light coming up from underneith the closest vehicle.

Other than that looks awsome! good job!
hope you participate in the weekly matte painting copetitions, you'd be good at it!

Excellent work, so realistic! I would have like to have seen a Tiger I as those the destroyed tanks look like T 34's.

Great comp job! I agree I would like to see more of the tank though. I know you did not model it, but I would like to see more of your texturing.

Smile Thank you all! + i will take all your suggestions in account

First of all i´m sorry for answering so late to ym own thread. i had no web for weeks

I apprechaite all your comments and critics very much.

ed harris and all who noticed the little too dark contact shadow under the Leopard are totally right about this fact! I will fix this within the next days (have to find the time during my work...).

I think i will provide another perspective rendering as well in a different location showing more of the tanks side. i think about a glade in a german forrest .

so far
