All right, you should not give a damn about others criticizing the girl. As someone mentioned inperfections make it real.
On the other hand she is exactly my taste, I'm not for Barbie-like bodies. (I've been a swimmer, went to the pool with even more able-bodied girls for years , maybe that's why I like broad shouldered girls, and dont feel it's masculine at all.)
And if we'll see her from the other side, I bet she wont have those silicon-like things instead of natural breast, what most cg artists used to create.
Great job, go on!

Talking thanks for the welcome

Cheers guys, thank you all very much for your comments. All though my pride and personal tastes have some what been dented? She looks like a man I hear some cry! Your right she does. I havent much experience in lightwave with rigging, so the deformations are pretty bad, If someone is willing to lend me a rig and some tips I would be eternally greatful!

firestar3d vbmenu_register("postmenu_1799787", true); : I am using Lightwave to render and I have just bought G2 ( for SSS ) and I am messing around with it, I would love to convert to the dark side and use Max, HairFX is amazing and so is brazil.

I will try as soon as I can to post some wire images etc. Im not to sure how to add extra images to this post, as I am just a humble noobster.

Off topic, but it's funny how some people try to overtake over people's opinions with theirs.
My opinion is that her shoulders are a bit wide. I base that on the fact that my wife, and her family are from asia, and it's not common to see asian women, who are not body builders, or swimmers, etc, with wide shoulders. My opinions are in no way disrespecting the artist.

I like the character the way it is. Perhaps the neck is a tad thick but thats not to say there aren't women that have necks like that. Great color and lighting.

I have to agree with some people saying that she looks like a man from the waist and down. Sorry! You need to tone the female proportions a bit more. Her skin looks good though.

Great work on the shader. I don't mind the shoulders being wide or looking a bit manly, women come in all shapes and sizes, not all are femme fatales!

However on proportion, the arms look a bit too fat in relation to the rest of the body. At the upper arm joint and shoulder, the fold of the arm seems to taper out too much. Maybe the fold should be more vertical? It might just be the camera angle or pose. I think the fold is also making the upper arm look disproportionately shorter than the forearm.

The right hand is quite stiff, all the fingers look completely straight, maybe relax the hand for a more natural pose.

Lastly the body pose itself might need a slight adjustment. I think the center of gravity should be shifted over the right leg, then tilt the shoulders down toward the right as well, that will help the pose look more relaxed. You can try standing in the current pose with the center of gravity in the middle, then shift it to the right to see the difference.

Overall a real good job!

daym unchikun! you said the arm word.

-LPS- i presume you are studying the normal human female figure and my comments are so related.

1. arms are a bit thick and a little out of proportion. they might be so because the arms cold be slightly bent, but in that case you would see more of a gap between the elbow and the waist or some difference with the shaders. the humerus [upper arm bone], is longer if not equal in length to the radius and ulna [forearm bones].

2. lack of a defined elbow joint, would have you believe that her BMI is way over what the rest of her body looks like. elbows are joints which seem invisible on seriously overweight people. if she is the swimmer variety, she would need to have more muscle definition. i dont mean, cut, but defined.

having said that, mate, she prolly has the best virtual ass there is. Love that bum tan! and i think the legs are simply great.

to those who think that imperfections make things more real, youre prolly right. i work with physically challenged children, i think i know. but if thats true, then there can be no crit on any piece of work. after all, imperfections make the art more real! but do we all want reality? perhaps if -LPS- had stated where he was headed with the art here - perfection, realism, accentuation or his own stylisation, we would have a discussion. until then i guess we are all battling each others perceptions but there is only so much you can argue with the anatomy.

i mean all this is good faith. no offence anyone.

Unhappy Female Revolution...

Thanks again for all your feed back guys, i will make the changes as best i can. Its strange when you work on a project for so long you become blind to the errors, I have now seen the light. Apparently I cannot attach any wire images because I am a new member. Need 30 posts or something like that. This post was acutally for the WIP gallery but for some reason the guys here classed it as finished my apologise. Look out on the WIP gallery for the head model and wire combo image...

Completly agree with Igric. I'm also tired of these billions silicon digital babes for teens.
Real life is much better.

Right on ! Great modelling/texturing ! Hope to see more from you.

A note to some of the other comments above: the shoulders are too broad, but that isn't what would add to the realism. In women, broad shoulders are usually developed naturally, not because they are strong or even because they swim. You can keep the broader shoulders if you want, just make it look more like muscle bulges instead of a thick bone look. I've seen many women with broad shoulders and they still look like women, they are strong or more broad chested even, just not too much in their bone structure. Character modeling is one of the most difficult things to do in 3d, expecially people. Overall I think you've done absolutly wonderful, despite the minor shoulder gripe.
Sometimes the most simple things are most deeply expressed and most difficult to explain or portray.

The elbows are too high.
