I Loved the reel but, one thing that was not there was your name and contact info. Well not till the end and only if I watched the credits first. In my opinion I would add your name and at least email address kind of water marked at the bottom at all times. Other than that it is great work. The reel shows strong modeling, texturing, and rendering skills with a nice rig but not much animation. I would have liked to see some animation at the end maybe

Great work and good luck

That robot is insane the details are killer and the rig is unbelievable. You did a good job overall.

Good Job Man!

Nice work on the models, you forogt to add the muscle deformation test you did for the knight.

Good luck on the future!

hey biren,

A pretty cool reel man,

here are my crits:
1) I think the background you're compositing your robot over is too similar in color to the robot. It would be alright if the robot hand some variant colors, but it's more or less 1 tone, I'd suggest comping it over a darker background. I'd also suggest you texture the robot. It could really use it - the modeling is nice and complicated, though asthetically it doesn't appeal to me (reminds me of those lego toys: bionicles), I think textures could combat this.
2) the foul knight - you put 'artwork by Anthony', I'd suggest you include Anthony's last name.
3) spend some more time on your set, or if it's done, at least feature it more prominently in your reel, it looks very impressive, and i'd like to see a fly through or something along those lines.

-Kol.

hey,
Well i'll work on that. I was thinking about putting more of my set in there. I'll definitely work on that. And yeah i had to put the name of the artist as Anthony, coz ...well he didn't give me any other name when i asked him for it. I'm e-mailing him again.
Darker background for the robot coming up . Thanks again Kol.

Regards,
Biren

WOW, the modelling and the rigging of that robot is insane. What technique did you use for the rigging of the wires?

btw Biren Venkatraman

gent_k : For the bones i was using 3D bone chains, with up vectors. All the dots you see floating around are up vectors controlling every single wire, so that they dont pop. and the big sphere controls are just parents of the small upvectors, just so you can do a generic sway to the wires. I'll be putting the breakdowns on my website pretty soon.

Hope that helped!!!
