Chicken Chair's First Test, Bassam Kurdali (Animation)

Title: Chicken Chair's First Test
Name: Bassam Kurdali
Country: Syria (residing In Us)
Software: Blender

Hi everybody, this is a short animation test of a creature that is robotic chair with some of the traits and personality of a chicken. Someday, in the far future, it will be an insignificant prop in a larger animation. Till then, it is the star of its own short anim:
(800x600 Divx, ~18 Megs
(400x300 Divx, ~7 Megs
(200x150 Divx, ~2 Megs
The animation is encoded in Mpeg4 avi (divx) with mp3 encoded sound, at 30fps. All comments, questions and critics will be appreciated. (except those about my spelling ;) )

Looks really nice. You may want to relink the animations as they point to an empty directory. I took the final / off the url and they work fine. I've listed them below so that people can get to them easier.
I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.

Top quality stuff Bassam!

And YES, he did do it in Blender. It gets better with each release. Just keep your eyes open all, we are coming.

hello folks, and thanks for the comments.
CuTnPaste, yup, all made in blender.
As to news about blender? its been getting releases very quickly now, not huge once a year ones but decent ones seems like every 2 months or so. Interface has had a nice facelift, too many modelling features to mention, new shaders, new UV mapping features, integration with Yafray (Raytrace+GI renderer, I didn't use it here, but its just a dropdown panel away now) new renderer improvments (raytracing, render time radiosity, Ambient Occlusion, etc...) new shaders, dynamic particles, and I've only mentioned a few things.
The best 'feature' I think is the workflow- its different from many other packages, but designed for speed and consistancy. And you can do most portions of your project in the same program- including editing. It's a fun time to be using blender right now- if you use the cvs checkouts, you can get one or more new features to play with every week.
Animation tools are functional and easy to use, but I think 'discovering' them is hard for new users. What it has right now is a nice armature system, with fk, ik constraints and action, a function curve system, and a non-linear animation mixer (which could do with some love) That being said, I find I can put together animation very fast in it. For me the time bottlnecks have to do with my own skill defficiencies (painting textures, and deciding on shots/editing) rather than blender's. which is a good thing. Overall its a nice fast little app, with well balanced features, and it doesn't get in my way (most of the time)
Old 09 September 2004   #14 we have to wait the new release, right?

I promise to get better infoes form your site, but there are some tutorials ?

-Blender should be a general purpouse software or is it oriented to some specific branch of CGI world? (modeling, animation, ecc.)

-What about the User Interface? is absolutely user enemy? (like zbrush or it is similar with some big software (maya, max, ecc)
