this is one of my old works.
now it is in Elemental Book.
herein 64000 small spheres to make the Globe which they compared to worlds people.
Created in max and rendered with Brazil r/s.
Hope you like it.

Sth. like a projected texture right ? Nicely done, how did you get all these spheres in place? Or is it a displacement map ?

this ia a high segmented GeoSphere + Lattice Modifier + spherical mapping coordinate.
easy to make and hard to render.the globe have 1,200,800 faces.
