Still - "careful With That Axe, Eugene", Grzegorz Rakoczy (3D)

Title: Still - "careful With That Axe, Eugene"
Name: Grzegorz Rakoczy
Country: Poland
Software: Blender

Here is my new work I made in Blender.
This is rather texturing study then very artistic work.
Wood textures are based on photos I made.

It's a good start but the textures all seem to flat to me. Maybe more bump mapping and displacement would make the textures stand out a bit more. Also the whole scene seems kind of bright to me. Was this done with the Blender renderer or Yafray?

I agree with pnoland. The wood textures are still too flat.

For good wood textures in Blender, you need to run the NOR slider almost to MAX. Yes, I said MAX.

It is still a bit bright IMO too. Turn down the power on your Area Light and it should be better.

This version is a good improvement from your first one though.

Reality is an illusion caused by lack of alcohol.

thats good and a realy kool axe. The textures arent realy flat if you look at the but thats the impression you get because theres nothing but a color map. For instance if you had some relective parts of the axe. The lighting is too bight and takes from the depth. Aslo the apple could use some work. good overall.
