Concept Roadster, Niels Denekamp (3D)

Title: Concept Roadster
Name: Niels Denekamp
Country: The Netherlands
Software: Rhino 3.0 + Flamingo

This car was a Coupe first, but I thought it would look good as a Roadster, so i removed the roof, and remade it as a roadster. I also altered the design a little and added some more details.

The Technique i used to make this is mostly setting up the curves in the shape of the car, and that use "surface from network of curves" to create the shape of the car.

Please tell me what you think of this car, what you like and dislike on it.

Thumbs up

Hej Niels,

First of all. I like the design. Nice flow with some "hard" edges.

There are a few minor things that needs fixing.

- Some places need more polygons. You can see it on the hood for example. (the last image which doesnt show) I also have to say that i have very limited experience with nurbs modelling.
- More work is needed on the headlights and the shading of the glass. The material seems dull.

A very good model... i would love to see some Higher res pictures and a wire.

Reiner, Thanks for your reply, i'm glad you like my car

about the hood, when you work with nurb, its not a matter of polygons. but I have to set my mesh setting higher, witch has effect on the whole car so that my rendertimes increase inmensly.. there may be an other way to make the hood smoother, but i don't know how..

and i will change the headlight material, i agree it looks dull

I will post a high res image soon, + some wires

I like the model too, I don't like the texture though.
It looks too much like chrome, and cars usually aren't made of that.

I partly (is that the good word..? ) agree with you, so i will try a render with a less shiny paintjob.

for now, here are some wire's:

Really cool looking! Looks kinda like the original Bat-mobile...

The render looks a *bit* cartoony I think. But heck, it's still way better than I could do.

maybe that is because the render is resized. so the edges seem sharper and give a cartoonish feel.

thanks for your comments,

Niels
