Mechanical Gnat, Melak (3D)

Hi!
I created this Mechanical Gnat to a former hungarian graphical contest. Method: polygon
modelling, at the gnat only procedural texture.
I would be glad to have your opinion.

the detail is great, nice work...maybe the light could be toned down just a hair (just a crit). real nice job.

What a detail! Its a shame thought that many of the details-forms are hard to see, probably because of the lighting. Maybe your ambient lighting is too high? Play with lighting and texture contrasts a little bit, in case they enhance the overal look of it. Great work!

It took 60 hours to create the gnat geometry. I can't tell you how long it took to make the textures, but it last very long. The polygonnumber is more than 2.5 million. Thanks for your critics.
I regarded the opinions you gave, while making a new render.
And if anybody is interested in the details, there is a picture here.

Great details! The texturing looks somewhat strange (doesn't mean bad of coarse) a bit paintery you know. Very nice work!

I was wondering, did you think of a use for all the strange contraptions on his legs and body? If i ever builded such a thing (which i doubt) i'd make a map with references on what each part does. Anyway, your model is so complicated, it could be real.

Some 60% of the contraptions on legs can work but all the others are only "decoration". That's a good idea to make map with references. If I ever have plenty of free time, i'll make it!
