Object - Siemens Sx1 Smart Phone, Will Geddes (3D)

Title: Object - Siemens Sx1 Smart Phone
Name: Will Geddes
Country: Usa
Software: Maya 6, Photoshop

i've been working nonstop on a human female character, and i needed a break, so today I made this.

it's based on the Siemens SX1 cell phone. it's not 100% accurate because I found reference images showing three different versions of this phone. this ended up being an amalgamation of all three.

i used Maya 6 poly/subD modeling and Mental Ray for rendering. I never modeled anything like this with the poly workflow before, and i probably never will again. its too hard to model accurately with polys, and i really should have used nurbs. such is life, i suppose!

this image is NOT for commercial use by Siemens. I am just a student doing this for fun.

That's not bad especially with polys, and since your using Maya they have a section here for CGtalk for the topic of Maya and they created a thread on tool sets for poly plugins, there are a few on there that are really good that may help, and it's tools that people have created, I use to model with Nurbs all day and didn't understand polys at all, but now I have a better work flow and especially developing for games
The Score....Dun dun dada Dah!!!!
