Abstract - Mysterium, Jason Saunders (3D)

Title: Abstract - Mysterium
Name: Jason Saunders
Country: U.s.s
Software: Blender

I thought that it would be cool to create a piece of art out of a single shape or mesh. This image uses only one mesh, hand duplicated hundreds of times. I wanted to create a desolate, lonely feel. This piece was minorly updated several times, including revising textures, improving bumpmaps, and tweaking lighting. I would love to hear your comments and constructive critiques!

i think its a pretty cool concept. i really think you succeeded in taking a boring old shape and turning it into an interesting picture.

Cool design and art!

I like it, especially when my company logotyp has the same shape. But not only for that reason, i like the lights and the darkness as well.

So i got inspired, and created a personal desktop-picture out of your piece. I shortend the longest object so it could lay closer to the other two (you will understand when you see the picture).

I hope you don't mind Jason.

nice

I like this and i think the pic shows that lonely feeling. The only thing i don't like too much is the "clouds" as they almost look like it's the clouds function from photoshop... also i might look cool with some depth of field blur in the background.

I really like this image, and like the desktop created by fluke too. This is awesome.

That reminds me of that first Star Trek movie where they finally reach the center of that probe heading to earth. That looks almost like a part of that landing place a couple of centuries later. Great lonely feeling, nebula gives it that "standing alone on a big mountain" mood. Pretty interresting how far one can get with such a simple basic shape.

regards
