Offroad Vehicle, Dave Brinda (3D)

Title: Offroad Vehicle
Name: Dave Brinda
Country: Usa
Software: Cinema 4d, Bodypaint

My first vehicle attempt. Overall I wanted to combine a cartoon body style with photo-real textures and lighting. The modeling was a mix of box modeling w/ hypernurbs and primitve modeling. Also this was my first time using Bodypaint...wanted to figure out how to paint over the top of a procedural SLA shader.

I like Your car, but I think that wheels are too close to car`s body.

Good call...I guess you can't really have a "lowered" offroad vehicle, eh?

Great job on the wheels and tires ... they look very nice... I think the junction beetween the headlights and the body could be smoother in the front. And like it was said, it's probably a bit too low... no suspension travel ! And if the body was higher, we could see the suspension that you have done (we can see them in the wireframe)

Good job on the render, simple yet effective !

I agree, monster trucks should have insane amounts of wheel gap. Other than that, it's real clean. Nice work!

Hehe, funny car. I like it. I agree with other comment about the gap between tires and car body.

great model. I agree about jacking it up a bit. Also would be good to see a bit more of that
engine and pipes-v8s with blowers are so cool looking.maybe a cutaway on the panel somewhere?

Sweet. I like how this feels cartooney and realistic at the same time. The three extra views at the bottom add nicely to the composition.

Cool brinda

nice job

my only crit is the arial on the back makes it look like a radio controlled car.
perhaps an object to show scale?

I finally had some time to revisit this, and make a few tweaks.

I lifted the body a bit to give more clearance and a better peek at the suspension elements. Also I redid the tire sidewall type with a projected spline instead of a bumpmap.

Anyway, thought I'd share the updated image, as it's based on some great feedback from you all.
