Latrix Reloaded V2.0, Djiemsi (Animation)

Title: Latrix Reloaded V2.0
Name: Djiemsi
Country: France
Software: Max

Latrix Reloaded v2.0 is a little short based on the funny concept to remix Matrix Reloaded theatrical trailer with some Southpark inspired characters.
A short film made in all modesty. We know it's not the best ever short movie but it's our little contribution to make people enjoying CG community. 3D animation is our first passion :D
I hope people will enjoy Latrix Reloaded v2.0

LOL. Well, the renders, the look of it, is very well done. However, the animation definitely needs a lot more work. It appears very slow and stiff. Unless, of course, that was part of your intention (though when I saw the still images, I was expecting cartoony, very overstylized and smooth animation). When viewed w/ the Reloaded trailer, Reloaded itself is very, very fast, but when you look at it side-by-side (as you have provided us), your animation is very...slow. Though, I must say you have done a great job w/ matching the camera, explosions, and the vast majority of the overall shots.

I don't think there is much more he could do with the animation, the characters only have small arms and legs so what animation is actually done is quite difficult to see... on another note.. i really liked it gave me a bit of a chuckle

Thank you to all for your good words It's a pleasure to see that people here at cgtalk like our animation ! it's really great for us.

I have to say I was a little anxious to post here the link of the animation for critics. First because Cgtalk is the place of the best CG artits, and there are many many more beautifull and enjoying animations (very professionals ones). And since we were never went to CG school for years (just a week of CG formation in my life), it is sometimes diffucult to cross the step, to confront ourselves with the ones we considered the best !

to jul654321 : j'emploie "we" car nous avons été 2 a travailler dessus moi et mon pote Greg (Gregoo) ...( ça fait plaisir de voir des francophones ici lol)

to pearl3d : I am sorry but we are not going to make Latrix Reloaded. We want no to make a complete original short movie. We learnt a lot during the process of Latrix Reloaded, but to make Latrix Reloaded would be a bad way to exploit what we learned.

About the animation of the characters, yes It was a little difficult to make awesome moves. Too short arms and legs , but I agree with you rockymaru. We have to work on our animations

Loved it, I really liked the side by side with the original!!! How long did it take to make the entire thing? Scanline rendered, any light rigs, the outdoor scenes look great

cg219 :
I checked the links, it seems to be ok ! Maybe sometimes there is too many connections at the same time (there is a lot lot of dls for Latrix Reloaded ....it's crazy ). So just retry later

Tbonz816 :
To make the entire thing it took a very long time.
Firstly because we made at the beginning a first crappy version, and we decided to improve the work.(it's the reason there is "v2.0").
Secondly because we didn't have a lot of time each day to work on it (just 1 or 2 hours after our work days, and when we worked on it...not so often).
For the first crappy version, we worked to the beginning of april 2003 to the end of january 2004 (but very few hours per week). We made a work pause during feb, march and the beginning of april 2004.
For the v2.0 we worked to mid april 2004 to the end of july 2004.We worked much more faster with the same amount of time thanks to a week of CG formation I took in april 2004.
I would like now really to have the opportunity to work all my days on hudge animation project, but I am not an employee in a CG company (too bad :() ....but I really would like to ...
I would like to have more time for CG !
