A Stroke of Luck, Carlos Ortega Elizalde (3D)

Title: A Stroke of Luck
Name: Carlos Ortega Elizalde
Country: MX
Software: Maya, Mudbox, Photoshop

A stroke of luck or a gift from God
The hand of fate or devil's claws

Modeled in Maya and rendered in GPU with FurryBall 3 renderer, final size was 10000 px tall. Render time was around 45 mins total and was rendered by sections. Textures in Mudbox, background and touch ups in Photoshop.

I modeled this girl last year for a demonstration and for a version of my web portfolio that never went live. I recorded most of the stages from modeling to lighting for a demo as a quick walkthrough but never had the chance to make a final render until recent.

Beautiful render!

Is there any chance there is a copy of your demonstration of creating this online?

Great work!
The render time is really impressive for a 10000px image.
I would love to see that record, is there a chance to make it available?

I am always impressed with your work and always look forward to when you post new images. The mood, lighting, and textures in this one are fantastic. Have you ever considered making a start-to-finish tutorial for how you make these? I would happily pay for a tutorial if you ever do make one.
