Early Morning Breakfast, Andrew Price (3D)

Title: Early Morning Breakfast
Name: Andrew Price
Country: Australia
Software: Blender

I always found food to be a rather baffling topic, so I decided to delve straight in and attempt to make realistic bread.

I photographed the bread textures myself, then modelled, textured, and lit the scene using Blender and rendered it with Cycles.

I also made a tutorial here:
http://www.blenderguru.com/videos/h...ealistic-bread/

Please give your honest critiques :) Thanks

Your bread is excellent! Like the inside airy feel of it and the crusty surface, it makes me feel like grabbing one!

This is really fantastic, Andrew!

I'm perplexed as to how you created that volumetric effect on the loaf of bread, I really should dig into your tutorial soon.

The only thing that's detracting me from the entire image itself are the utensils - they seem to have a plastic coating to them as though they are malleable in a sense; as opposed to a hard and solid metallic look.

Other than that, I'm totally awed by this image!

Nice. It almost looks like it could be a photograph.

Very nicely done, I know how difficult food can be and there are so few resources out there so the tutorial is much appreciated.

Just some minor points: looking closely at the higher resolution render, I can see some artefacts from the displacements on the crust. Also, the butter looks a little too soft.
