Cold Feeling, Jacinto Monteiro (3D)

Title: Cold Feeling
Name: Jacinto Monteiro
Country: Portugal
Software: 3ds max, After Effects, Photoshop, VRay

In this commisioned visualization 3D project we selected together with the client a snowy Winter mood. We hoped to have achieved a nice exterior cold feeling.

The rigid structural piece, basically made of iron, concrete and glass, is an University Laboratory located in Zurich, Switzerland.

Feel free to visit our facebook page (free full exterior scene there!):

Very nice, no complaints here.. except maybe it's a little too perfect at times? Like the glass seems perfectly clean, perhaps it would look more natural if it had some variance in glossiness with a "leaking" mask or something, just a thought.

Other than this, I have a question. Let me just first say that I don't wish to start vray vs. mental ray discussion, but I'm curious; is it not possible to achieve this same look without too much effort with mental ray? Thanks.
