The Dark Elf Assassin, Vlad Ghenghea (3D)

Title: The Dark Elf Assassin

Name: Vlad Yoshida

Country: Japan

Software: 3ds max Maya ZBrush

Submitted: 5th March 2013

Hi, this low poly model is one of my latest works. It is based on a concept done by Young-june Choi. It was a very fun project to work on. I used maya to build the base mesh and the low poly model, zbrush to build the details and 3d studio max with mental ray for rendering. I hope you like.

Saw this recently on PC, you've really done an excellent job with this concept, the character looks great! The face and hair really sell it on this model. Do you have wireframes you could share?

EDIT: oh and thank you for sharing your WIPs. It is really helpful and appreciated

Hard to critique, but I'd love to see the rocks get the same detail as the girl. Also, a hair solution instead of a model with transparency maps could be an interesting thing to try. Great work!

Thank you SCB, I am happy to see you like. Here area few wireframe shots. Please click to enlarge.

The polycount of the model is 46000 triangles

Thank you MrPositive, your reply makes me happy. Your perfectly right about the rocks.
For the hair I used alpha with planes to be lowpoly work.

Thank you Aazv17, I am happy to see you like.

Stunning model. Nothing to say but fantastic. How did you setup your render? And what material did you use on her outfit?

I am sorry for my late reply. Thank you very much guys for your comments.

For the render I used productio: mental ray with indirect ilumination, final gathering set to draft.
For the skin I used a SSS mental ray material. For the rest of the cloths I used just a standard material, nothing special. To light the scene I used mr Area spot to the back to bring a bit of light coming from that direction, and 3 mr Area omni lights one 2 key lights and one soft light coming from front.
