Hive Mind II, Neil Blevins (3D)

Title: Hive Mind II
Name: Neil Blevins
Country: USA
Software: 3ds max, Brazil r/s, Photoshop

Much like the first Hive Mind, this was inspired by a thumbnail I saw of a completely different image. The thumbnails for this and that image have some similarities, but the full res images are quite different. This was originally going to be Hive Mind 3, but I have yet to finish the old number 2, so I swapped 2 with 3. Expect 3 (the old 2) hopefully this year. Mostly painted in Photoshop, a few elements are rendered 3d, and other elements are bits and pieces from photos I took over the years of construction equipment.

Thanks, I'm pretty happy with the atmosphere in this one, although part of me wanted to go more foggy. But I think this is probably a good middle ground.

Your work is fantastic as always! Its almost disappointing that the work isn't mostly 3D, because I just want to move through the environments, and explore them.

Ive said it before, but you are one of the reasons I continued in 3D! Your stuff still has a massive influence on my work. I cant wait to see more.

Thanks Pyke. Ya, I'd actually like for these to be 3d as I think a 3d print of them might be cool. Maybe I'll have time to do it at some point, but it's so tough to find time to do anything when you have a kid Glad you continue to enjoy my work, I'll keep making it when I can.
