It's Gorillaz but I like it...

Thanks so much guys! It actually is Guerillas, not gorillaz. Guerillas is a comic book, written and illustrated by Bhram Revel. Here is the original image:

But there is monkey's in both

I did the side view as well, same render settings and a little photshop trickery.

More in line with the concept

Here is the base mesh I made in Maya and the ZBrush sculpt:

Very nice recreation in your own style. Personally I like your composition more than the original (the first render).

Excellent job Maxim! Personally I prefer the second render that matches the viewpoint of the cover. That said, it's really cool to see his blank eyes in the first angle.

The only thing I'm not keen on is the mist effect, it looks too much like Photoshop clouds for my taste.

Great stuff!

Haha, right you are... It IS photshop clouds...

Should have known better! I'll fix that.

Cheers, M

That's really good work.
I like to learn.

Ok, no more Photoshop clouds!! And added some foliage to make it more interesting

Maybe the gun looks a little like a toy. Otherwise, amazing work.
I draw using math models and algorithms.

Thanks! And yes, the gun turned a bit matte in the final render... Annoying as there is quite some detail in there. Well, I tried
