Marshes, Martin Geupel (3D)

Title: Marshes
Name: Martin Geupel
Country: Germany
Software: 3ds max, Digital Fusion, VRay

This image is heavily inspired by the "Dead Marshes" scenes from the lord of the rings movies. In contrast to the original look and feel I wanted to achieve a more "hopeful" look with a warm tone and a fresher look in the plants.
The image was entirely created with 3dsmax (forestpack+growfx plugins) and eyeon fusion for postwork/grading

I'm a sucker for these fantasy works! Nice
This would fit perfectly into the situation after the events of the story.

But its too bad you didn't go for the dark scenario! throw in some undead under the water and play around the colour, then you got yourself a eerie piece!

Lovely work. I thought about the Dead Marshes before I even read your description. Very attractive image.

I am a big fan of Tolkien, I immediatly falled in love with your artwork.

Outstanding quality, would really love to see a higher res. version.
Maybe I would have given to the frame a little bit more vertical space for mountains and sky, but it's only my personal taste.

Congratulation for your porfolio too, amazing works

Thanks a lot for your comments!
I thought about making a darker version but this will have to wait for a bit more free time (and I doubt there will be dead bodies floating around, I'm not good at character stuff )
