Quite the opposite, Andy... itís most probably the reason for the impression. The longer the focal length, the more is getting foreshortening a problem. Tele lenses compress the depth, making everything look like being in the same plane, making the perspective flat and therefore unnatural. The viewer wonít read foreshortening as such because depth is missing - he will see a smaller part.
