This was just a little PFlow exercise. I liked the result, so I decided to make it the final image.

Very nice, the different surfaces and the lighting all feel really good, like I could reach out and touch it (but don't want to because it looks sticky!).

nice lighting an shading. the ant could be less tranclucent, it looks to uniform without much depth into the ant's body.

2Kzin: Thanks, but let's look at images below. In fact, a smaller ants more translucent especially in the bright backlighting. So I thought that this transparency will be ok.

What a nice picture. Very realistic and with such a great amount of detail. Did you intend to rebuild a certain species of ant and mold or were you just following your inspiration? I mean, this could even be a picture as they are found in a science magazine

Thank you, Alex. I don't think a real science magazine would want to use this image. This is the artistic image "based on" the real thing. I'm afraid that biologists want to kill me.
