Jason Seiler's tribute, Giovanni Casadei (3D)

Title: Jason Seiler's tribute
Name: Giovanni Casadei
Country: Italy
Software: MARI, Maya, Photoshop, VRay, ZBrush

I'm a big fan of Jason Seiler's art and I've been very much impressed by his "3324 North California". I decided to make a CG version of it hoping Seiler will like it. I modeled it with Maya and ZBrush, texturized it with Mari and Photoshop, rendered with Vray for Maya and composited with Nuke. Hair with Shave and Haircut for Maya.
Hope you will like it too!.

Now this I like. The only things I find distracting are the pose of the old mans left hand, fingers look too straight on the curve of the cup. The pole or upright growing out of his head could be avoided by moving the camera view more left or right. The buildings outside could possibly look better and add more depth with some DOF.
Everything else looks to me to be perfect. Modelling, textures and hair very nicely done.

Amazing work! I too am a big fan of his work and feel you did a really great job at re-creating his 2D piece into 3D. I do agree about the fingers though, it was the first thing I spotted that felt off. The colors in the skin could also be a bit more varied like it is in the original. Still great job and amazing work.

It looks great, but like others pointed it out, the left hand is a bit off.
