Thumbs up

Amazingly nice lighting, just that fire could be improved to the quality of whole image. Good work !

Love the lighting/shading - at the same time, it's a bit old-school, bit cartoony, and modern, detailed and kinda realistic. Great image.

Beautiful illustration... Loving the lighting!

thanks Arnas, i'll look into that!

Dushyant,
thanks! sadly there are no interesting lighting wips to see. i had a good idea of what i was after from the start so the wips are pretty similar to the final image in terms of lighting, except some lights are separated or placed less accurate.
i used omni for the fire and a direct light for the blue rim. linear workflow, global illumination, rendered with vray.

Simy Soares and Chris,
thanks a lot for your appreciation!

Andrzej,
thanks mate, PM ;-)

love it

Love the lighting, everything about the image really works so nicely

what shader did you use for the skin and the mummy?
Thank you

Silverwing, thanks a lot man! really appreciate it.

Carmen, thanks!
I used vray for 3dsmax. shaders are my own, simple vray materials with some sss for the skin of the girl and mummy. most of it is in the use of textures and light. the clothes of the girl and mummy have some white fresnel in there as well.
I've been asked to make a short tutorial at cgarena for this image. i'll do my best to have it done within a month or so. i'll try to explain some things more in depth there.

I was going to say that that sss would have been great to use
