Underwater angel, Amin Faramarzian (3D)

Title: Underwater angel
Name: Amin Faramarzian
Country: United Arab Emirates
Software: Maya, Photoshop

I did a quick drawing in my sketch book and I thought it would be cool to do a final colored version of it.
I tried to to follow my sketch as much as I could and I used maya+ lots of painting in PS.

Hope you like it, and any comment is welcome.

Thanks man, I love this type of cartoony style characters, it's basically very flexible, I can imagine different Ideas coming to life using this kind of style.

Very nice! I'm impressed with how you managed to avoid an awkward cross between painting and CG, everything seems cohesive here so that the picture is what stands out, not the technique.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments .
simonblanc you keep checking my stuff and stopping by, man, thank you. your words are positive and inspiring. I'm gonna try to do more of these just for fun, because I really enjoy working on it. maybe it's stupid, but I still feel I'm kind of cheating by using 3d as a base. I kind of want to do everything in PS, but then I think I don't have enough time (and certain knowledge) to finish everything in PS. I spent 3 or maximum 4 days for this image, doing it in PS can take me more than 6 or 7 days (to get specially all the shading as correct as I can).
I guess I keep doing what it feels right to me to see what I'll get as a result. Thanks again guys

I wouldn't call it cheating using 3d as a base. I personally feel that it's just that which makes this piece pop out a bit more than if it had all been made with Photoshop. Something subtle that makes it hard to pin down what medium was used.
The result is beautiful. Very fresh and inspiring.
