Really great pic...soooo much character!!! Brilliant !!!

please let me ask you one more question: at first thanks for the insides of the fur. would love to know if you rendered the extrapass for the fur in vray too? just curious, since vray in sp3 can work with max' hair and fur_mod in max 2010, or did you render it with MR?

i'm trying currently a lousy fur-throw with tip-fade on and and my rendertimes are far above 8 hours for a 4k-pass...

thanks for your time

Me too.

Every time I've attempted to render fur at a big enough resolution to print I've fallen flat on my arse, so thanks for the extra info!

Awesome work, very inspiring and the cigarette touch at the painting really rounds up to another level for me. thank you very much for showing us how you did the shaders, textures and hairs as well! If I had to nitpick, the fur on top of his left eyes can be more well arranged because I think that part didn't have enough "fur". ( my 2 cents) Great job again!

That's really a great work, congratulations!

I guess this is one of the first images here with a character using vrayfastsss2 and looks amazing, I guess we'll see many more from now on.

I also would like to know more about the fur, how was it rendered if it was scanline or vray. Sometime for me is hard to match the GI light from vray with a hair pass, not mentioning this huge amount of fur. Congratulations again!

definately the image looks really stunning, what caught my attention was the look & feel of the nose + snout area (texture & shader) rather than the fur, looks really fleshy and live.

design & pose - great
texturing - really great
lighting - great
fur - great

overall beautiful inspiring work. thanks for sharing.

Muitos parabens.Abraço

Vanda, Fábio, João> Muito Obrigado!! Estou nas nuvens!

I will try to give some more feedback regarding the hair because that seems to be one of the things that people would like to know more about.
So, for all the number-loving geeks out there here are all the numbers :
