Yeah, its hard to stay original when the Films were such an amazing and complete representation of the books. But I like to see everyones efforts!

It would be interesting to see what everyones interpritation of the Balrog or the Mines of Moria would be.

Post 2 cents

Good stuff guys. I just got back from spring break... wow Florida is so much better than Pittsburgh. I got back and I got so depressed when I saw snow again. Anyhoo... I'm bit to drunk to sketch so I'll offer the following tid-bits
  • Cyanid - Thats a pretty cool style
  • Ephesus - Thats awesome fog effect, orthanic looks a bit misplaced
  • Fnote - That is killer lighting
  • Her0d - Awesome style. That is so creative with the oil machines in the back
  • deaderthanred - I like the 2 hobbits
  • deviousderek - Awesome color man - did you just join in the last week? If you did then let me say welcome
  • Robertt - Thats a scary drawing for sure
  • Falcor - I LOVE the color awesome!
  • bealobo - Your diffiintely getting better really fast
  • JVaughan - Amazing as usual
  • ebr - Awesome color and lighting
Well thats my 2 cents. It also seems to me that everyone is influenced by the movie so much. The eye of sauron in the books was never a light tower... actually it was never described at all. Anyhoo good job all

Mordor, at Dawn

1.5 hrs. OpenCanvas, ArtRage; a bit of GIMP

This ended up with a softer palette than I had originally intended. It is also very hard to shake the film images.

Novacaine, Wow, amazing detail - I really like this and the loose feel of the picture.
Ephesus, Nice color choices, I also like the focus of the picture being the volcano, rather than the tower.
