Any word on the next challenge?

I just got my first post as an modeler for an upcoming RTS game, and lucky for me I have a lot of time to work and perfect my models… And what’s best is that I am really sure I can work in one of the models that I have to make anyways, and submit it as an entry… Kill two birds with one stone…

I think this is a brilliant idea, and one that quite a few people would have an interest in. Also we would be coming up with solutions for this issue, and then you can take back any ideas that you've generated to your respective companies which you work for.

I'm a student, so I had to miss out on the last challenge because of coursework and time constraints, but I'd definitly be up for a new challenge soon as college finishes at the end of this month.

Can't wait.

lol a crate challenge :P That is a classic. I really can not think of something that can replace a crate for filler… maybe a barrel but that is also classical filler. I think people have under estimated the crate it is a handy object as filler If can be anywhere and still look somewhat believable... I mean look at your houses… the basement or garage and you will find a box somewhere We are surrounded by crates all over this world because we are all pack rats. Some more than others.

I only find them somewhat believeable because I've seen them in almost every game ever. Sometimes they're in context and make sense, sometimes they're totally out of place. And most times they don't actually have anything inside them! If people want to improve the crate-cliche they could at least give them contents, and maybe those styrofoam beans.

I don't have any crates. I have some boxes stored away under the stairs, but they're not really lying around corridors.

I like the idea of the crate challenge. But it's quite hard to come up with an adequate replacement.

Well I can't personally see it starting tomorrow really, because of preperation.

Maybe in a weeks time.

crates are brilliant :- http://www.oldmanmurray.com/features/39.html

(the first page is a bit weird, but its worth reading on)

I'd welcome a simple prop challenge, I was really busy for the duration of the last one unfortunately.

Maybe we should do the ultimate crate/barrel challenge! Or if you can come up with something better then a crate/barrel, you can do that.

How about it Bentllama, are you ready to start this thing?

I myself wouldn't mind seeing a challange based off reinventing the crate/barrel. It would be nice to see how some of the other posters would make such a cliche interesting.

Who knows? I might actually participate in this one
