Texturing: Toes

Made the tips of his toes a bit transparent. The reference I have of the frogs, there toes are just a bit see through with a real wet look. So i'll be doing a good spec map for that. Also plan on adds somr more skin toes and some dead flesh onthe part wher hes is joined to the mech.

really coming along, i'm loving it... still very "cute". One thing you might want to look at (and you just may not have analyzed it yet as you are doing a lot) is the goggles, the texture looks a bit grey-dull and could use a more metallic or rubber feel depending on your material. Can't wait to see the full character in all its glory

Thanks for the reply the goggles are still just a default shader still have to map them out.. Might go with a black rubber look with a bit of grey to show some wear.

Bigger clearer test render.. small upload uploaded one is a bit fuzzy for my liking.

Started the eye textures still have some more detail to add to it.... Then back into the skin.

I like your concept... And the modelling, too.
Maybe you should try a more "shiny" or "glossy" look for the skin...

Thanks for the reply. I am planing on making the skin a bit more shiny.. The skin as of right now dosen't have a spec map on it (just the default setting to the blin). Once I add one he will have some really nice shiny spots....

Work most of the day on the skin... pretty happy with it now just have a spec map to do...added some darker tones of skin on his back where the mech parts meet and added a barcode on his neck...

hey kurtB................I see you added the suction cups for the finger tips I mentioned....................I was thinking you could make them tiny machine part suction cups............An added aid for the lil'creature.....................

Pretty much done the skin now... added a spec map and made his pads a little wet looking like my ref pics. Now off to the mech parts see what I can do there.

Texturing: MechTexturing

First idea for the textured mech parts.. Wanted to keep a simple feel.. but have a futuristic feel kinda like the robots being developed in Japan which I find pretty cool... I still need to add some textures to the goggles because there not the same material as the mech part.

Will start on the enviroment this week and that should help out even more.
