I think this image is very clean and nicely set up.

I dont agree with mr.Gooch that the dof should be the same on the fin above water as under.
where as water is thicker than air and has an different ior than air.

just my point

That's really great! You really captured the feel of the skin, and if the water is 3d, that's splendid.

amazing. excelent work.

I love the subject.

maybe the water is too reflective...but it looks very good the way it is, not real but looks really nice.

well done.
I don't know why I did it, I don't know why I enjoyed it, and I don't know why I'll do it again. - Bart Simpson

Smile Wire and other

Thanks a lot for comments,

Here you can find the wire, the Z deep and a comparison through the original reflection of the skin and the cg.

About the rendering, It takes 2 ours for an 3200 x 2000 pxl

The water material is a Brazil glass material with a 1.333 IOR and a lite green colour.

All the DOF and RAY effect are made in Combustion using the RPF file from MAX.

The caustic effect is a Mask on the direct light that simulate the sun.

If someone want to view an animation about the shark can look at the animation gallery:

Thanks again
