After looking closely at the ref. pic and model, I can't believe how good a repro. this really is...
Front Page for me, but then I see you've already got another pic on FP!

Would love to see a wire (even a partial)

Great job . 5 stars from me...

cheers,

thanks
Yes I used that photo for create the model, the reflections on the helmet are a mix of real reflections (the arm and the other thing on the end of helmet glass) but the image of Armstrong and Lunar Landing come from texture.
The background of image is a texture like you see on the wire.
all the rest of the model encosed the clock are full modelled.

Outstanding work! Really nice The only crit are the colors, there should be more blue, like the original image... from me!!!

By the way, which renderer have you used?

I have loved the original photo since I was a little kid (dreaming of becoming an astronaut myself one day). Some time ago I started to remake the pic in Lightwave myself, but I found it quite impossible to do as I knew the photograph too well and could not get the details right... You certainly succeeded where I hopelessly failed You did a wonderful job!!!

Amazing work! Is the moon background 3d, or a 2d image composed?

Please, show us more WIP images, close-ups, etc...

no you are not wrong, there's a lot of tipe of the same photo, depend on color correction and quality, I put the comparation from what I've used.

that is amazing! i would never believe it was cg if you didnt post the wireframe. the only real difference i see is the original image's suit is dirtier than yours, thats it man. everything is dead on...just amazing, very inspiring!!
