cgtalk's choice... we choose it!!!

great image, would you care to render a 1280x1024 one? (dont know why that resolution happens to come to my mind... )

and would you care to tell us a bit of how you did it?

great work!

I love this style - really crisp night mood! Great!

Critique: The grass looks a bit too hairy. I'd up the coarseness and set tapering to 95 or 100.

Absolutely one of the most beautiful 3D scenes i´ve ever seen. If not the best.
Spectacular lighting out of "nothing". (Don´t get this wrong. What i mean is that there´s the moon only as a visible lightsource, nevertheless it looks amazing!)

mmm... I love the atmosphere... this is probably one of the best night scenes that I 've ever seen...

By the way, what are those white ball things in the back ground? Rocks? sheeps? Also that's that thing right next to the tree?

I am just curious...

I love the atmosphere.

Please post a larger wallpaper version!!!
And if you could, give us some info on how you made it.

Thanks everyone... I'm astounded you all like it so much.

I apoligize I haven' posted a wallpaper version of it for everyone... I'm trying to finish the movie by Dec. 14 and I've got alot of shots to finish still.

I promise I'll render out a higher rez image as soon as I get some time.

Those mound things are actaully far away trees, its hard to tell at night, but in the day render you can really see them well.

that object next to the tree is a cardboard box, its what the character uses in a scene later in the movie.

Here is another image that goes along with the shot... the shot does a little timelapse dissolve thing from daylight to night to morning.

I'm still working on the morning shot.... the lights aren't quite right, you'll notice there are several different light directions... but time is unfortunately breathing down my back.

anyway thanks all.

wow, that is beautiful.
Of course, I prefer the night time scene far more, but the day time version looks great!
I can tell that this is the angle in which you imagined that scene, correct? How does it look from other angles?

Wesball you got a really good thing going here bud, the night scene has massive potential for classic storytelling, you must do us all a favor and get a wallpaper size render out a.s.a.p! In the meantime I'll just mark this down for our upcoming hall of fame gallery
