The models in this still have been modelled and rendered in Max 4.2, then passed in Photoshop for some retouches (grain , localized color adjustments ...)

Thanks, most of them are photorealistic textures retouched in Photoshop.
You can find tons of them at http://www.animax.it (they are free and at a VERY high resolution)

eklectica, I have to say, I love everything you've posted so far. I really like the style of the top image, as well as the detail on everything.

What kind of post processing are you doing to give the top image the grainy watercolor feeling it's got?

Thanks

Glad u appreciate that.

Well, they are quite few and simple steps

1) Open the rendered image in Photoshop or similar program and lower the saturation a bit (ctrl-u for the panel).

2) add a bit of grain with noise filter (gaussian and monochromatic)

3) Sharp and add more contrast on the edges of the image with sharpen/unsharp mask filter

Hope this could help

Ciao, Ale
