Great....

Now I'll have to visit my surgeon again
thanks to you!

After my jaw healed nicely, and I saw your work here...

...it fell right off.

As a matter of fact, it fell so hard onto the floor that
the man living downstairs came up with it complaining that
I spoiled his dinner, and he almost refused giving
it back to me.

I guess what I am trying to say - OH MY HOLY RIDING HOOD - YOU ARE AMAZING!

The detailing is nigthmarish! I love it! You INSPIRE me!

Sincerely
/SketchPad

Excellent, but ... Why is it hollow???

Hi,

As others have said: well detailed pic. Cool.

But ...

I have never seen a ship, that is hollow. Even when it is layed up and torn apart. A war ship is full with decks, machinery, storage bunkers, corridors, ladders, stairs, bulkheads and so on. Only tankers or bulk carriers would be partially hollow like this. Ok, a carrier has large hangars - but nothing like this. Even when a ship is build, they do it usually from bottom up. Otherwise it would not be possible to install most of the heavy machinery.

I still don´t get it. What is this ship doing there? If they build it, there wouldn´t be a flight deck yet. If they tear it apart, how could they get all the other stuff out of it?

Wonders ... shakes head ... .

If it would be completely fantasy, maybe it would work. But a picture with the intention to be realistic ... it is a big fault. destroys the picture for me.

Best regards,

honda.

Greekdish - Metal rusts fast when exposed to the elements. Most of the metal will even more than likely been sitting at the metal yard outside to begin with. Ya, I know, when I look at something like that and it's rusty I think it's gotta be ruined, but it's not. Stuff like that isn't going to be stored inside in a warehouse, it would require one that's WAY to big and really not benefit from it because all it requires is a little sandblasting and wholla ready for primer and paint.

But you are correct about me neglecting the fact that it is 1943 in that picture and not 2004

As usual, excellent job Ale.
Just got your sms

I've seen this while you were creating and it was already great, now, finished, it's really a beauty.

I'm happy that you always make a still pic of your works, to emphasize the huge amount of details, because when inserted in the action scene, a large part of them will be missed.

I've seen someone asking why this ship is hollow.
Well, it's one of the main scenery used for an attack run by a P51 Mustang squadron.
In order to avoid being detected by the large Nazi robot, they make a perilious run at low altitude, among ships and very near to buildings. The "boss" airplane will pass trough the ship itself.
Actually in the pictures, there are details that make the carrier a bit small, but at the end the action will be so fast paced that you won't have time to make scale comparisons.

By the way, the carrier is being dismantled, is not under construction.

Again great job Ale, prepare for the next task

This is a really impressive image, I am fascinated by it.

Great work, I love all the little details that you have put into it.

Keep it up!!
