It's James Dean! Or someone that looks a lot like him anyway.

Excellent work.

Nice, especially with the WIP thread going. Ah, a street in rain makes me so sentimental. Great work!

Nice image, and render! Congrats on making the front page. The parking meters look tall enough to my eye. The guy walking down the street reminds me of James Dean as well. Was that intentional?

This is so brilliant.

This is beautiful really, really beautiful, definitely got the 50s feeling on it, reminds me one of photos from Berenice Abbott and it's great cityscapes from New York.

Wow I can't believe this picture made it to the frontpage and got an award....

freethink, thanks. You might be right. More Rain and fog might have added more drama to the picture

larsgehrt, thanks for your support

cobra6, thanks. I might consider writing a tutorial for the road material. The shader is not that complicated, but there was A LOT of trial and error involved in the process

aamirart, thanks

lildragon, thanks! I really appreciate that. That is the best news I've had in a while

Ofn and Xistel, thanks

zokana, Thanks man! I really hope people go and read through the Wip thread and see how much of much of a difference your suggestions and advice made.

cserbuj, thanks. The wip thread certainly helped keeping me motivated throughout the project.

PollyBoffin, Thanks. I was trying to make him look like James Dean, so I am happy you can see the resemblance.

Retronator, square-zero-one thanks a lot

webhead, I am not sure if the parkingmeter is at the correct scale. I used reference pictures of parking meters, but I didn't have any measurements.
I was trying to make him look like James Dean, but I wasn't sure if people could tell.
Check out the Wip thread. There is a link at the top of the first page.

JUNN6163, thank you

AdanVC, Thanks I am happy I got the mood right. I didn't know Berenice Abbott, but I've just spent some time looking through her pictures. Those are quite brillant. I almost feel motivated to do another vintage New York picture based on her pictures.

Eimer, thanks I appreciate that

Looks lovely. The wet surfaces are fantastic. However, the human's scale seems odd — maybe it's an optical illusion, but he looks 9' tall (like he's as tall as a Prometheus Engineer or Avatar Na'vi)
