Hi all, It is the first time that I upload my stuff on CGtalk!
I'd like to share water delivery seattle a piece I've been working on for a while now.
It's an attempt at a realistic portrait and I want to express him as an elderly curmudgeon.

Modeled in Zbrush. Texturing in Zbrush and Photoshop. Retopologized in 3DCoat, Rendered in Maya using mental ray, and the hair is using Maya hair system.

Thank you for watching.

(comments/critique welcome)

I have corrected everything you have pointed out

love the lighting you've created. the mustache looks a little uniform, but overall the hair is outstanding! keep up the good work.

Excellent

By far, one of the best pieces of CG Portrait work I've seen. Love to see more from you soon.

This is such an impressive piece!

There are only a couple of issues with the hair and the skin's shading where it should cast a shadow from the clothing, but other than that, really a masterpiece.

Re: an elderly curmudgeon

Amazing! Like all previous comments, the texture, lighting, and expression are ultra-realistic. I wish I could model like you!

Very very nice, but 1 crit I have is the green hair strands. They really stand out. Maybe on the hair shader the hue variation percentage is too great. Also, cast shadows of the roots on the scalp are needed.

If this is what we can expect from your future posts, I can't wait for more. He certainly does look like an elderly curmudgeon! Great work. Love his scraggly beard.

stunning work. the join between the neck and the shirt could use some shadowing though, perhaps some AO?

Wonderful work! just one thing that is really bothering me,, The eyes are a tad too selfilluminated/backlit or something.. that's a true shame, cause the rest is freak'in awesome!
