This is pretty badass!

You have my vote as well for a textured/lit version (in a space combat scene? )

Looks amazing. The lighting really lifts it up, something a lot of people overlook when presenting models. I'd like to know which software you used for each particular task when creating this. I'm strictly a 3DS modeller but I just know there are some situations for which other tools would really speed things up.

More complexity than is necessary, and that particular ship doesn't lend itself to realistic space type of design, I imagine a million parts falling off as it takes off.

Thanks for your feedback everyone - the comments and critique are much appreciated. I don't have any plans for it beyond materials and textures and a nice big render.

Thanks a bunch Telemachus. I used Maya for most of the modelling, with zbrush+dynamesh for some booleaning.
